I spent last night with my partner in crime Luisa of Eat Sleep Luisa Repeat, having the time of my life reliving my teenage years, screaming along to classics like Sugar, We’re Going Down and This Ain’t A Scene, as well as newer songs like Phoenix (such a good comeback) and Uma Thurman.
We missed the first two support acts; Charley Marley and Matt & Kim – as we were hungry and went to Whole Foods for some dinner instead. But we were in time for Professor Green – who I surprisingly really enjoyed! He was a bit of an unexpected addition to the line up, but I think it’s obvious by now that I’m open to trying new things (remember my One Direction and Little Mix experience?), and
I have seen Fall Out Boy before, at Reading Festival 2013, but not at one of their own shows, and I was really impressed. They churned out hit after hit, with so much energy, everyone, including the band was having so much fun.
The obvious highlight for me was when the band moved to play near the sound desk in the centre of the standing area, about a metre from where I was standing.
As a teenager I loved Pete Wentz, and would possibly have been in tears at standing so close, haha!
We decided to go to the gig pretty last minute – such a good decision! Fall Out Boy are one of those bands whose songs not only do I really enjoy, but I find really uplifting. During their set Pete said a few words about how their fans have credited Fall Out Boys music for getting them over hurdles in their lives, and it wasn’t the music it was them, the fans themselves. Very true – however I can say 100% from personal experience that music can be so motivational.
I’d love to hear from any other Fall Out Boy fans!
